REVOLUTION I recently heard of a book called Revolution, by George Barna. I bought the book on CD and have been listening to it driving to work to see what George had to say. I have to admit that much of what he said is true. Folks are looking for something more than organized religion. It is very easy to get caught up in works and leave our "First Love" left behind in busyness. Working hard for the Lord is so easy to get caught up in, I know, I have done it too many times.
Recently, my husband, Don, our grand-daughter, Laura and I visited a home church. It had a very sweet spirit about it. It was very personal without the frills, such as passing the plate, bulletins, etc. We enjoyed a meal and good spiritual conversations with other families around the table. Our children sang along as we played music on guitars. We found the whole experience very rich in purpose and intent.
After hearing the "Revolution" on CD I realized that we are a part of this movement in Spirit and desire too. We too want more than busyness and a label of being someone in a church. Being who we where meant to be, made to be and are, in Christ is the best place anyone could find themselves. Jesus never asked us to build a church, he called us to BE the church.
I am interested to see how this "Revolution" will take off among those who have been injured in the religion of the organized Church. Have we learned the real truth? Jesus calls us to HIM....and in that we love others and serve as the body of Christ, walking around in a dying and lost world, crying for a solution that no amount of money can fix. When was the last time you spoke of our Savior outside church? Maybe it's time for a "REVOLUTION." - Sherry Simpson
